Art Prints and Notecards

My illustrations draw on a lifetime spent in the fields and forests of New England; truly viewing those rural landscapes from the ground up!

My botanical prints include a wildflower series, created at the request of friends seeking colorful additions to my pen and ink work. Each piece is unique, featuring colored ink, watercolor, or colored pencil with a monochrome background.

Many of my wildlife pieces were done as illustrations for the New Hampshire forestry community and prints were a response to requests for copies, and to help hold down costs for the organizations involved.  “Nash Stream Moose” celebrates the conservation of Nash Stream Forest - New Hampshire’s largest State Forest.  Others started life as my holiday notecard – working from photos taken on the job or captured on a trail camera.

The unique buildings throughout New England contribute to its charming rural character. Many of my illustrations feature intriguing the buildings I've discovered across the state. If you're interested in commissioning a house portrait, please contact me via email. I accept commissions on a case-by-case basis, depending on my availability, with prices starting at $500.

This portfolio includes a variety of pieces: some are commissioned prints, others are personal projects, and a few were created for fundraisers supporting the Seacoast Science Center at Odiorne State Park.

I am a lifelong resident of Derry NH.  My art education has stretched from Pinkerton Academy to the University of New Hampshire, to the Manchester Institute of Arts & Sciences where I began to explore Pen & Ink drawing in 1993.  My work draws on a lifetime in fields and forests of New England; truly viewing those rural landscapes from the ground up.

As a forester with the State of New Hampshire Division of Forests & Lands, my pen and ink drawing has turned into something of a second career.  I have illustrated three books: “Selecting Trees for Urban Landscape Ecosystems”, “Good Forestry in the Granite State” Vols 1 & 2, and provided most of the illustrations for New Hampshire Project Learning Tree’s “Focus on New Hampshire Forests”.  Additionally, I have completed commissions for UNH Cooperative Extension, the New Hampshire Timberland Owners Association, the New Hampshire Tree Farm Committee, the New Hampshire Department of Agriculture, Innovative Natural Resource Solutions, the New England Society of American Foresters and numerous individuals.

Early on I began combining watercolor and colored pencil with my pen & ink, as well as working in watercolor alone, to create my botanical, wildlife, buildings and New England landscapes illustrations. I take part in local art shows and exhibits each year and have receive recognition from the Beaver Brook Association, the Greater Derry Arts Council, the Greater Salem Artists Association, the Chelmsford Artists Association, the Londonderry Arts Council and at the annual Westford Regional Art Event.

Since September 2011, I have been part of the traveling art exhibit The Road Not Taken – Artistic Interpretations of the Poetry of Robert Frost” with friends and fellow artists Corinne Dodge and Judy Krassowski.
